Find out more about the Shell Malaysia LiveWIRE programme! The Shell LiveWIRE programme was established in 1982 in the UK by Royal Dutch Shell to offer free workshops and funding to young entrepreneurs with the objective of tackling the issue of unemployment.
The Shell LiveWIRE programme has been delivered in Malaysia since 2015, focusing on supporting entrepreneurs above the age of 18 years from East Malaysia (ie Sabah & Sarawak only) in their entrepreneurial pursuits. By partnering with Shell Upstream and Downstream, the opportunities to include local entrepreneurs into the Shell Malaysia value chain adds value to local businesses and to Shell in Malaysia.
In view of the impacts of COVID-19, this year’s LiveWIRE delivery will be entirely virtual. After a series of virtual trainings, the best five entrepreneurs from Sarawak and five from Sabah will be selected to undergo a nine-month business startup facilitation and post-startup support from the programme partners and will have the potential to be included in the Shell Malaysia value chain.
Through the Shell LiveWIRE programme, we hope to seek out innovative business ideas that hold the potential of changing the world around us. We do this by supporting visionary entrepreneurs in their ambitions, turning their entrepreneurial dreams into a reality, leaving a lasting positive legacy in Sabah and Sarawak.
